Pigeon Pass Rd. Widening

BergCM, as Prime Construction Manager, provided administration and inspection services for construction of this $6.4 million project to widen and improve Pigeon Pass Rd. from Ironwood Ave. to North City Limits in the City of Moreno Valley. Pigeon Pass Rd. provides an arterial road connection to a large residential area.

The project consisted of widening Pigeon Pass Rd. from a varying width road to a four-lane road with turn pockets. Some of the areas not scheduled to be widened received additional lighting. Three intersections required signal modifications.

Project work involved traffic control, excavation, grading, aggregate base, grinding and overlay, AC paving, sidewalk, storm drain, street lighting, signalization, signing, striping, and landscape. Project required coordination with Eastern Municipal Water District and Southern California Edison as well as Riverside County Flood Control.

The project was awarded Honorable Mention at the APWA Project of the Year 2009 awards.
