Assessment District 29 Street Improvements

BergCM, as Prime Consultant, managed two construction contracts for the City of Palm Desert totaling $17 million for the installation of trunk line sewers (Phase 1) followed by Phase 2 work which included earthwork grading, storm drain installation, curb and gutters, water lines, roadway grading, placement of conventional and Rubberized Asphalt Concrete (ARHM) paving followed by signalization poles, traffic loops, signage and striping.

The work related to five arterial City streets: Dinah Shore, Monterey Ave., Portola Ave., Gerald Ford and 35th St.

Additionally, the work included construction of a multi-million gallon retention basin for rainfall runoff storage. The final feature of the Phase 2 contract involved a sewer crossing of the I-10 Freeway with a 30-inch and 420 foot tunnel to carry the designed sewer line. This project was completed both on-time and under both the original construction and construction management budgets. BergCM also provided survey and materials testing services.
