West Adams Heights Park

Prominently located along Normandie Avenue at 1903 Cordova Street just south of the 10 freeway in Los Angeles, this former vacant lot was a community eyesore with overgrown weeds and a buildup of unsightly trash. BergCM served as Construction Managers on this Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative project which transformed the lot into a community-identifying park that is enjoyed by local residents and welcomes vehicular commuters to this historical neighborhood. The park opened in December 2014 with a well-attended grand opening celebration.

Gladys Jean Wesson Park Project

Located at 2508 S. West Blvd. in the historic West Adams community of Los Angeles, this formerly vacant lot was transformed into a vibrant neighborhood park which opened in December 2014. BergCM served as construction manager throughout the design process, construction and closeout for this Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI) project. The park features children’s play equipment, adult fitness machines, a unique shade structure with cutouts of poetry written by local students, sustainable landscaping with drought-tolerant plant and trees species as well as an integrated irrigation system per the City’s low impact development requirements.

Boyle Heights Pocket Park

BergCM provided CM services for the design and construction of this high visibility neighborhood and transit park for our client the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative. Located at 1st & Chicago Streets in Boyle Heights, the park is a popular intersection for gathering in the community as it is adjacent to the library, police station, youth and immigration organizations.

Bandini Canyon Trail and Park

BergCM oversaw the transformation of the neglected Bandini Canyon into a safe and environmentally-friendly recreational park. Work included a decomposed granite pedestrian trail, point-to-point lighting, enhanced planting, landscape and fencing, vehicular access for security and a tot lot/playground combination.
