Third party agencies included
Caltrans, multiple utilities, the US Navy, City of Los Angeles, City of Long Beach, and
various sub- departments. Responsible for project Administration, Berg CM, in association
with Bechtel, processed all construction project correspondence and distribution of
information, maintained project schedules and budget analysis.
Berg CM was responsible for the field construction of this $35 million dollar project and
provided the Senior Construction manager, Tom Berg, PE and Lead Structural Inspector, Dave
Smith as well as Roadway, Pile, and Structural Inspectors. Bergc CM was directly
responsible for quality assurance, public utilities, safety enforcement, change orders,
project documentation, and coordination of sub consultants. Berg CM was also responsible
for communication with the public at large, agencies and private concerned agencies and
served as the primary interest contact between the Port and the Contractor from pre-bid
through construction phase to project close-out.
