Alameda Corridor South End Bridges & Civil Works


The $45 million rail and bridge construction for the Alamdeqa Transportation Authority consists of 4 separate projects.

The UP Storage Track Bridge at Dominguez Channel
The Dominguez Channel rail bridge project is a multiple span concrete two track bridge completed early and under budget.

ACTA Bridge at Dominguez Channel and Segment 2
A multi-span four track bridge west of the fuller bridge between the I-405 and Sepulveda Blvd.

 


The Compton Creek Rail Bridge Project
A replacement structure, four-span, steel through girder three-track bridge located near State Route 91 and the freeway on-ramp.

The Long Beach  Lead Rail Bridge and Segment 3
A six-span precast, pre-stressed, concrete double box girder to provide connection of the ACTA mainline to the Port of Long Beach.


  • Coordination with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific railroads, multiple utilities / companies, various City Agencies, other regulatory agencies.

  • Construction adjacent ACTA mainline track, already impacted with heavy freight volumes

  • Construction operations "worked around" the growing volume of train traffic.

  • Existing and proposed utilities removed or incorporated into new construction

  • Critical to maintain schedule and worker safety

  • Involves channel and high ground water work conditions.
